April Industry Celebration

For our very first Industry Celebration, we’re taking a moment to spotlight ourselves! This section is dedicated to recognizing special accomplishments and milestones in the parking industry, and what better way to kick it off than by celebrating one of the industry's pillar companies for the past 28 years—The Parking Network (TPN)! 

Founded in 1997 by our very own Clyde Wilson, TPN has been a driving force in the industry for nearly three decades. Clyde’s journey in parking began in 1979, much like many industry pioneers—by dialing a phone number on a payphone. From the beginning, Clyde’s innovative mindset and forward-thinking approach set TPN apart. Staying relevant in an evolving industry is no small feat, yet TPN has managed to do just that. Clyde instilled in our team the importance of asking questions, challenging norms, and never settling for “the way things have always been done.” True industry progress happens when knowledgeable professionals shape the future through curiosity and innovation. 

The Parking Network was founded on a simple yet powerful principle: “There has to be a better way.” That pursuit of improvement has led us to develop a diverse portfolio, including operational reviews, financial analyses, equipment evaluations, active monitoring programs, parking studies, and guidance on new parking projects. Our teams have been involved in some of the most transformative projects in the industry and partnered with some of the most influential companies in the industry. Alongside TPN, Clyde’s ventures—Focus Point and Flo Thru—have also played a key role in shaping the industry as we know it today. 

Clyde has devoted his life to this industry and most importantly this company and the people that make it thrive. I left my full-time teaching career and started part-time, expecting my first child in 2018, not knowing the profound impact The Parking Network would have on my life. To say it was a gamble would be an understatement! I took a chance on this company, much like from Clyde’s gamble on a phone number and payphone decades ago. In my short 7 years I have come to believe in The Parking Network’s mission and the impact it will continue to have on the industry.  

Now, 28 years later, The Parking Network remains committed to the future. The parking industry is a dynamic and ever-changing space, filled with competing ideas and daily challenges. With our wide-ranging involvement in projects big and small, we are uniquely positioned to drive innovation—whether it’s improving daily operations at parking facilities or reimagining the future of mobility. 

At TPN, we will continue pushing the industry forward, challenging the status quo, and conceptualizing the impossible. So maybe this is an Industry Celebration of The Parking Network’s 28-year history or maybe this is really a celebration of The Parking Network’s next 100 years!
